NZF Zakat Calculator

Calculating your Zakat obligation with Nepal Zakat Foundation (NZF) is easy and straightforward. Our calculation process is divided into two parts: Zakatable assets and deductible liabilities. Here is a detailed breakdown of each:

Zakatable Assets

  • Gold: The value of any gold you own, whether in the form of jewelry or investment, should be included in your calculation.
  • Silver: The value of any silver you own should be included in your calculation.
  • Cash: The value of any cash you have in your possession or stored in a bank account should be included in your calculation.
  • Savings: The value of any savings you have in a bank account should be included in your calculation.
  • Business Assets: The value of any assets you have invested in your business should be included in your calculation.
  • Fixed Deposits: The value of any fixed deposits you have in a bank should be included in your calculation.
  • Loans Given Out: The value of any loans you have given out should be included in your calculation.
  • Stocks: The value of any stocks you own should be included in your calculation.

Deductible Liabilities

  • Borrowed Money: The value of any money you have borrowed should be included in your calculation as a deductible liability.
  • Taxes: The value of any taxes you owe should be included in your calculation as a deductible liability.
  • Rent: The value of any rent you owe should be included in your calculation as a deductible liability.
  • Utility Bills: The value of any outstanding utility bills should be included in your calculation as a deductible liability.
  • Other Expenses/Payables: The value of any other expenses or payables should be included in your calculation as a deductible liability.

To determine the amount of Zakat you need to pay, you must first calculate the value of your net assets by subtracting your deductible liabilities from your Zakatable assets. If the value of your net assets reach or exceed the Nisab threshold, you will then be required to pay Zakat.

Note: The Nisab value is calculated by taking the current silver rate and multiplying it by 612.36 grams of silver. The conversion from grams to tolas can vary, but 612.36 grams is a commonly used figure for Nisab calculation purposes.
